A Mile and A Foot

One of the people that God has used the most in my life is a man named John Flavel. He’s also a seventeenth century English pastor. I have “fellowshipped” with this man through his books, grown in knowledge and wisdom because of them, and increased in worship and devotion unto God.

In Season

We have fully transitioned into the “holiday” season, and God is at work in the world! No matter how many “happy holidays” signs, “seasons greetings” cards, or massive-super-mega superstore sales there are, Christmas is still happening! Like usual, there is always an attempt to do away with the deep Christian truths of the Bible, but God is not so easily swept away!

Your Psalmy Pastor

Have you ever felt particularly Psalmy? Things like this happen to me all the time. For instance, a couple months ago, I got Genesis 22’ed. I felt like every prayer I prayed, every devotion I led, and every sermon I preached, led us up the mount, watching Abraham go in faith to sacrifice his son. But God provided. I got stuck in the best of ways—constantly thinking about, praying to, and praising the God who provides!
